Cayo Cantiles

Cayo Cantiles is inhabited by a considerable population of apes in wild state that it forms part of an experimental station of the Science, Technology and Environment Ministry (CITMA), for what some also identify it as "The Island of the Monkeys"

Cayo Cantiles is considered as a Biological Center of Reservation. In its surroundings it can also be practiced the sport fishing or the diving.

Cayo Cantiles, is a little monkey sanctuary, run by three workers. Otherwise, the island is uninhabited. Besides the monkeys, the little coral island was home to giant iguanas and jutias, those cute little rodenty animals, which they caught for pets.
